This hotel amazed me. I've never stayed in such a beautiful and classy hotel before. It was modern yet had the oriental authentic beauty as well, such as the lighted windows. From the kettle to the Music on the TV, it was the perfect way to relax. Staff were exceptional, friendly and showed me the way to my hotel via the elevator. They also complimented me on my Japanese, which was a huge honour. They also directed me to a local massage venue. If staying here, it is well worth using the public bath. Breakfast was very good, but the evening meal was one of the best meals i've ever had in my life. They had a great selection of Sake's (rice wine) too. I really felt like royalty being here. Thank you so much for the amazing experience, Mitsui Garden Hotel.

We liked the location, walkably close to the main places of interests (Gion area), but far enough from the tourist hustle, the neighborhood is remarkably peaceful. Close to the subway, bus stops, supermarkets and restaurants. Can note the design of the hotel inside, such traditional style, very beautiful and relaxing, liked so much. The room had enough space for everything, it was even pretty big, the beds and pillows were comfortable, we slept well. The hotel spa area is nice, relly liked the hot carbon dioxide bath. The staff was very friendly, they helped us to keep our luggage for some hours before leaving Kyoto. As a result, we were satisfied and would definitely choose this hotel again

Room is larger than average for being in a popular part of Kyoto - also just a bit away from the really tourist areas, so quieter at night. We were there for the Gion Matsuri - so it was very convenient in terms of location for that. It’s 10 minute walk to Nishiki Market and about 15 minutes from the Gion district and it’s 20 minutes to Yasaka Shrine. All walkable. Close to 2 train stations and less than 10 minutes from Nijo castle. In the immediate vicinity, there are many places to eat / drink, and even more if you walk a bit further towards the more touristy end (Nishiki Market etc). Comfortable sized rooms, good facilities (including open baths).

This hotel exceeded my expectations. It is extremely pretty and eco-friendly, so you can choose for two room cleaning options. The room was spacious and clean, and it provided some international adpters for electronic devices. The personal was very polite and friendly, and the location is perfect. The closest train station is just a 10 min walk and there are restaurants/convenient stores very close by. It was perfect for walking to the train, markets or other touristy areas around. There is an onsen as well, with modern ammenities.

Absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were so friendly, helpful and professional. We only had breakfast once in the hotel restaurant as we wanted to explore Kyoto but it was delicious and well worth the extra charge. The room was peaceful and had a relaxing ambience. The onsen was clean and well looked after. The hotel is well located for public transport, and central enough that you can walk to shopping areas and attractions. Highly recommended.
